Submit your cd for a review.
We would love to review your cd!
If you read all the following information carefully and follow
the directions to the letter, we'll do exactly that.
Our current wait time is one month from the day we receive your cd,
so please don't send us an email asking how the review is going for at least five weeks
from the time you mail it to us.
We suggest you mail the cd(s) to us with tracking and email us the tracking number when you have actually
given it over to the Postal Service. We'll make a note of it and email you when it/they arrive or if it/they haven't
arrived within a week.
Does it cost anything to submit your cd for review?.
Yes and no. Every cd received by us will be given a fair listen by whichever staff member opens your package. If that person feels your cd is good enough to pass on to the review team, it will cost you nothing and your cd will be put in the 'Bin' to be reviewed as time permits. If the cd is determined not to be of sufficient quality to receive a favorable review and the cd you send is in commercial-ready packaging, it will be donated to the local library for their annual cd sale. If we decide not to review your cd, you'll be emailed to that effect, but we will NOT give you any specific reasons.
If you want to be assured your cd will be reviewed, enclose a check or money order in the amount of $10.00 and made payable to PEACE (all caps, please), and your cd will be handed directly to the reviewer with the lightest work load.
Paying for your review only pays for a review, not a favorable one. We will, however, give your cd to a second reviewer if the review is not favorable. If the first review is not favorable, we'll send that one along with the second one when the second review is finished. We will not post negative reviews unless you specifically request us to post it.
Paying for your review gives you three chances to have a favorable review posted. Not only will we review it a second time, but if the second review is unfavorable, we will give you the opportunity to send us a favorable review you acquired elsewhere. If this situation occurs, you will be required to provide contact information for the reviewer so we can verify the review we post is legitimate.
If you want to ensure your cd is reviewed and receive detailed notes regarding your writing, instrumentation, production value and artwork, include a check or money order in the amount of $25.00 and made payable to PEACE (all caps please), and your cd will be given the to the most knowledgable staff member for your specific genre. In addition to the review, you will recieve a detailed email with comments on all the aspects mentioned along with possible suggestions for your next recording. The reviewer may request information regarding specific gear used, recording environment, etc.
Both free and paid review postings include a link to a web page where the reader can purchase your cd. You must include the link you wish us to use when you send us your cd(s). If you don't already have online distribution, we recommend you vist our sponsor and get set up with free, worldwide distribution before you send us your cd(s) for review.
Also, each posted review will include 15-second samples of your songs. If any of the songs you send us are not originals or are songs to which you do not own the copywrite, you must let us know so we can disclude a sample of those songs.
We're not here to make money, we're here to provide a service to Indies and Indie fans and we cannot be bribed or cajoled into providing anything but an honest review of music received. Proceeds from paid submissions will be used to pay the operating expenses for maintaining and advertising the website. Any funds left over at the end of the year will be used to purchase prizes to be given away in contests and promotions to be determined at a later date.
